What Can You Build on 5 Free Lovable Credits a Day?

Vibe CodingLovableAI

Lovable (our favourite vibe coding tool) can help build amazing websites. Every day (whether you pay or not), you get 5 free credits. If you pay you get 5 credits a day plus your monthly allowance, and on free workspaces you get 5 credits a day.

5 credits a day used to build you a ready to go website, but I've had people telling me it no longer does. So I thought I'd test it out.

First Fail

In my paid for workspace (so able to use like 50 credits after my 5 free), I tried to make a migraine tracker.

Prompt:

I'm building a personal migraine tracker. I've attached a photo of an NHS migraine diary page - please use it as the basis for the data structure and log entry form.

The app should have:

  • Log an entry: Date, time, severity (1-10 scale), duration. Symptoms (multi-select: e.g. aura, nausea, light sensitivity, sound sensitivity). Suspected triggers for this episode (free text + common options to tap).
  • My profile / settings: Known triggers (persistent list I can add to over time). Current interventions: medication, exercise, massage, other (I can edit these).
  • Dashboard / analysis: Frequency over time (chart). Most common triggers. Average severity trend. Whether interventions correlate with fewer/milder episodes.
  • Export: Export my log to PDF, formatted cleanly enough to show a GP.
  • Use local storage for now - no login needed. Clean, calm design (this is a health app). Mobile-first.

It worked - exactly what I wanted. Really slick and usable.

6.1 credits.

Trying Something Smaller

Another small idea I had - a founder check-in tool. I thought this was good to try, as I had less of a set idea in my head.

Prompt:

Build a burnout tracker for founders and busy people. Mobile-first, local storage only, no login needed.

Daily check-in (2 mins): A short set of indirect questions to catch how I'm really doing - not are you stressed but things like how do you feel about opening your laptop tomorrow? and when did you last laugh at something unrelated to work? Also direct metrics: hours worked today, sleep last night, exercise (yes/no), did I eat properly (yes/no).

Weekly check-in (5 mins): Deeper indirect questions about energy, excitement, dread, how I'm talking about my work. Direct metrics: days off in the last 7, social plans kept, hobbies done, any time fully away from work.

Status output: After each check-in, show an honest read in plain language - not a score, not a traffic light, just a clear human summary of what the data is saying. If something specific stands out (you haven't had a day off in 10 days) call it out directly with a concrete suggestion.

History view: A simple log of past check-ins so I can see patterns over time.

Clean, calm design. Not clinical - warm but honest. This is a tool for people who are bad at noticing when they're running on empty.

5 credits exactly and it works. It needs some refinements which I haven't got round to yet.

Taking It Day By Day

I then tried a skincare routine generator. Background being I thought I was being a skincare pro, but turns out 3 of my products should not be used every day or together.

Prompt:

Build a skincare routine planner. Anyone can use it - they input their products and it generates a personalised weekly schedule based on ingredient rules.

How it works: User inputs their products - name and main active ingredient(s) (e.g. The Ordinary Retinol 0.5%, active: retinol). App analyses the ingredients and generates a 7-day AM/PM schedule. Schedule shows what to use each morning and evening, in the correct application order (thinnest to thickest).

Ingredient rules to bake in: Vitamin C - AM only, daily. Retinol - PM only, max 3x per week, never on same night as AHA/BHA. AHA - PM only, max 3x per week, not same night as retinol or BHA. BHA - PM only, max 3x per week, not same night as retinol. Niacinamide - AM or PM, daily. Hyaluronic acid - AM and PM, daily. Peptides - PM preferred, avoid same session as AHA. SPF - AM only, every day, always last step. Benzoyl peroxide - never same session as retinol.

Conflicts: Retinol + vitamin C - split AM/PM, never together. Retinol + AHA or BHA - alternate nights. AHA + BHA - avoid combining. Peptides + AHA - avoid.

Skin cycling option: toggle skin cycling mode which sets Night 1 = exfoliate, Night 2 = retinol, Nights 3-4 = recovery.

Output: A clear weekly grid (Mon-Sun, AM/PM) showing what to apply and in what order. Flag any conflicts with a plain-language explanation.

Save the routine in local storage. Clean, calm design. Mobile-first.

Success. Version 1 worked. I could use it on my phone.

I even had credits for a quick refinement:

This is good. Maybe add a type e.g. toner / mask etc (and optional suggested frequency if on the bottle)

Another day, another 5 credits. I added dark mode and a PDF downloader:

Can you add a dark mode and toggle please. Also a note that this is saved in the browser so if you close it will delete. And a download as a PDF option.

It worked but the PDF was unformatted.

I had 0.70 credits left and tried:

Can you add styling to the PDF please

It timed out. But it now has options to buy more credits, wait, or wrap up.

New - Lovable now gives you options when you hit the limit

I will try again tomorrow.
