Business Terms of Service
Last updated: 3rd March 2026
These terms apply to businesses, organisations and institutions accessing the Taught by Humans platform under a company subscription or partnership agreement.
If you are an individual learner, our individual Terms and Conditions apply to you instead.
1. What You Are Getting
A subscription gives your organisation a licence to use Taught by Humans AI-powered learning and knowledge tools for your team's internal purposes. Features available depend on your subscription tier: Learn, Grow, Build, or Partner (whitelabel).
2. Your Content, Your Outputs
Anything you upload — your documents, knowledge, materials — belongs to you. Content and reports generated by the platform using your materials also belong to you.
Our platform technology, learning design methodology and AI architecture belong to us and remain ours.
3. AI Tools and Outputs
Our platform uses AI to generate responses, content and recommendations. These outputs are not legal, regulatory or professional advice. You are responsible for reviewing AI-generated content before acting on it, especially in regulated contexts.
Full details of our AI sub-processors and data commitments are in our Data and Security Policy.
4. Subscriptions and Fees
- Annual subscriptions are paid in advance and are non-refundable, unless we are in material breach.
- Monthly subscriptions are non-refundable for the current billing month.
- To prevent auto-renewal: give 60 days notice for annual subscriptions; 30 days for monthly.
- Fee increases at renewal: no more than 10% for like-for-like services, with 60 days notice.
5. Your Data
We process your users personal data as data processor on your instructions. On termination you have 30 days to export your data, after which we delete it and confirm in writing on request.
See our Data and Security Policy for full details of sub-processors, security measures and OpenAI commitments.
6. Fair Use
We do not set hard usage limits, but ask that you use the platform consistently with your subscription tier. If usage is materially excessive, we will contact you to agree a resolution before taking any action. See our Acceptable Use Policy for details.
7. Liability
Our liability is capped at fees paid in the previous 12 months. We are not liable for indirect losses. Deliberate breaches of confidentiality are not subject to the cap.
8. Ending the Contract
Either party can terminate for material uncured breach (30-day cure period), insolvency, or change of control to a direct competitor. We can suspend access for unpaid fees (with notice) or serious acceptable use breaches, and will reinstate promptly once resolved.
9. Partner Tier
If you are deploying the platform to your own customers under the Partner tier, you are responsible for your end users compliance with our policies, and must flow down our Acceptable Use Policy and AI disclaimer obligations. See the full Business Terms for details.
10. Governing Law
These terms are governed by English law. Disputes go through good faith negotiation, then mediation, before court proceedings.
